Vulnerable Populations
The Yale CPHP is working to advance the public health workforce's ability to include vulnerable populations in their preparedness efforts.
The Yale CPHP recently conducted a vulnerable populations tabletop exercise in conjunction with the East Shore Health District. The purpose of the exercise was to raise public health workers' awareness regarding populations that may not be able to access or use traditional resources offered in disaster preparedness planning, response, and recovery efforts. Risk communication methods were addressed as well as the identification of the agencies and resources that are involved in the pre-event, event and post-event phases of a disaster. The Center is conducting this tabletop in additional health districts in Connecticut.
