ResourcesWhile students are at Yale University, they have access to the full wealth of resources provided by the University. Researchers in EPH are involved in numerous interdisciplinary research programs such as the Yale Cancer Center Cancer Prevention and Control Research Program, the John Pierce Laboratory, the Center for Perinatal, Pediatric & Environmental Epidemiology, a CDC-funded Prevention Research Center, The Yale Program on Aging, and the Yale Center for Statistical Genomics and Proteomics. At the completion of coursework and the qualifying exam, students relocate to the NCI for dissertation research. At the NCI, students have access to the numerous extant cancer epidemiological research studies and resources available within DCEG to pursue their focused dissertation project. The research studies include demographic, cancer risk factor, and other exposure-related data, as well as biospecimens in many of the projects (plasma, serum, whole blood, buffy coat, buccal cells, cDNA, and/or other tissue, including pathology specimens in some instances). Studies with cancer epidemiological data (i.e., questionnaire, exposure, cancer endpoint, and covariate data) and/or biospecimens that may be used for dissertation projects include the following: Agricultural Health Study |
