Master in Hospital Administration – Jimma, Ethiopia
The goal of the Jimma-Yale University Partnership is to develop a Master in Hospital Administration (MHA) degree program at Jimma University with the mission of providing excellent practical training for hospital and health center administrators throughout Ethiopia. The MHA program will be a 2-year “executive education” program in which students maintain full-time employment as senior management team members in hospitals and health centers in Ethiopia. The class will be selected as the Ethiopian Hospital Leaders Corps and employed as Chief Executive Officers in governmental hospitals throughout the country.
The program requires that the executive students receive didactic course work at Jimma University three times a year for two years, while maintaining a full time employment at a health care organization. The students' on-site work at their respective organizations during the two year period will count towards their "practicum" and is planned to give them the opportunity to develop the theoretical knowledge they would receive from their didactic sessions
