The Select Program in Public Health
A Five Year B.A.-B.S./ M.P.H. Program
Yale College students interested in the B.A.-B.S./M.P.H. program should apply for admission in the fall semester of their junior year. The next round of admissions - for students in the Yale College Class of 2011 - is scheduled for the fall 2009 semester. Application forms will be available on this page in mid-September. The application period will open on October 1, 2009 and will close on November 2, 2009. Completed applications must be hand delivered to the Office of Student Affairs, 47 College Street. A committee of faculty from the School of Public Health will review the applications, and a group of candidates will be selected for personal interviews prior to the Thanksgiving break. Offers of admission will be made in early December.
A completed application consists of the following:
- Application Form (application will be available in mid-September)
- Official Yale College transcript (in a sealed envelope from the Yale College Registrar)
- SAT Scores
- Two personal essays
- Two Letters of Recommendation (in sealed envelopes with the signature of the recommender across the seal). At least one recommendation must come from a Yale College course instructor)
- Residential College Dean's approval form (in a sealed envelope with the Dean's signature across the seal)
- $60 application fee
Financial Aid
B.A.-B.S./M.P.H. students may apply for financial assistance from the School of Public Health for the fifth year of the program. The application deadline is March 1 of the student's senior year at Yale College. Please see the financial aid web page for a complete description of the application process. Please note: Financial resources available at the School of Public Health are more limited than the resources available at Yale College. We will not be able to match the award you have received as an undergraduate. However, you will save a year of tuition payments by earning the M.P.H. degree in one year rather than the two years normally required to complete the program.
