Research Interests

As a vascular and interventional radiologist, I am primarily interested in imaging of the vascular system as well as nonsurgical intervention of the same. Specific areas of research include: Helical CT angiography (CTA) and MR angiography (MRA) of the aorta and branch vessels, including 3-D imaging. Future projects include the utility of CTA of the carotid arteries for the detection of stenoses as well as the use of MRA in the screening of patients with borderline renal function.
Another area of interest is the role of nonvascular interventional radiology in the treatment of female infertility. Ongoing projects include: transvaginal dilation of the cervix in the treatment of cervical stenosis and fallopian tube recanalization for the treatment of tubal obstruction.
Other areas include: Outcomes analysis of patients requiring embolization for postpartum hemorrhage, evaluation and treatment of peripheral arteriovenous malformations, prophylactic vena cava filter placement in multi trauma patients, and chemoembolization of liver tumors.
