Radiologist in Thoracic ImagingThe Department of Diagnostic Radiology of the Yale University School of Medicine is seeking a board eligible/board certified radiologist with additional experience or fellowship training in chest imaging to join the section of Thoracic Radiology. The section currently includes five faculty members who practice and teach thoracic radiology to medical students, residents, and fellows. There is ample opportunity for scholarly activity and professional development.
Yale Diagnostic Radiology provides an excellent working environment, and the Thoracic Radiology section enjoys a close working relationship with world-renowned pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons, oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, and subspecialists in other fields of medicine. Interdisciplinary conferences encompass a broad spectrum of comprehensive lung programs, including interstitial lung disease, COPD, general pulmonary pathology, and lung cancer.
The Department is fully digital and enjoys two 64DCT and three 16DCT CT scanners, one 3.0T and four 1.5T MR scanners, and one 16 slice PET-CT scanner. A major expansion of Yale-New Haven Hospital is scheduled for completion in 2009 and will be accompanied by an increase in the number of CT and MR scanners by approximately 50%. In addition, the Diagnostic Radiology residency program will expand from 28 to 38 residents over the next four years.
