Clinical Responsibilities

Michael Giradi, MD

Dr. Girardi’s clinical activities are centered around the diagnosis and treatment of patients with cutaneous T cell lymphoma (CTCL), graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), nephrogenic systemic fibrosis (NSF), cutaneous lupus erythematosus, and cutaneous malignancies (melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and basal cell carcinoma). He is the Co-Director of the YNHH Photopheresis Unit for the treatment of CTCL and GVHD, and the Cutaneous Lymphoma Center Dr. Girardi is internationally recognized expertise in the pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of CTCL, having lectured internationally including at the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) for 5+ years, and authoring several major reviews/chapters on the immunopathogenesis and immunotherapy of CTCL (including in the New England Journal of Medicine, and a chapter in DaVita’s textbook Principles and Practice of Oncology). He has also played a significant role in the elucidation of the clinical manifestations of the relatively newly identified disorder NSF: He was invited to present such as part of a panel of experts before the United States Food and Drug Administration, and has co-authored several reviews on NSF (including the pending definitive diagnostic.
