Department of Dermatology

The Department of Dermatology at Yale, one of the oldest in the country, is deeply rooted in research and is the largest provider of specialized dermatologic care in the region. We have widely recognized strength in many clinical areas.

Our services:

Clinical

Our goal is, quite simply, to provide the type of dermatologic care which we would seek for our own families. That is a very important point, since physicans often use the phrase "Doctor's Doctor" to refer to those individuals who typically are selected by physicians themselves for personal care. We are confident that our practice fully meets that definition.

Dermatopathology

This is one of the most highly utilized laboratories for the diagnosis of skin diseases in Connecticut. Board certified Dermatopathologists specialize in the discovery of new diagnostic techniques. In conjunction with the Yale Cancer Center, the service provides comprehensive diagnostic capabilities for benign and malignant skin lesions. The physician team and specially trained technicians are committed to excellence in diagnoses and a timely turnaround of reports which are vitally important in patient care.

Residency/Fellowships

The Yale Skin Diseases Research Core Center (YSDRCC)

The YSDRCC consists of a collaborative, multidisciplinary group of 61 investigators, representing 20 different departments/divisions at this institution. These are investigations of both normal and pathologic structure and function of skin. The long range goal of the YSDRCC is to create an environment capable of greatly amplifying the understanding of basic cutaneous biology and of a broad variety of skin diseases.
