Consultation Services

In addition to conducting the National Leadership Academies and overseeing the Regional Professional Development Centers and Demonstration Schools, the Professional Development and Consultation Unit (PD&C) provides a wide variety of consultation services. Together with the Learning, Teaching and Development Unit, the Professional Development and Consultation Unit provides a solid infrastructure of support for both schools and districts that are implementing the Comer Process. From the classroom to the boardroom, assistance and opportunities for learning are available at every level.

Whether a school district is implementing the Comer Process throughout all of its schools or in a core group of schools, SDP consultation services begin with the assignment of an Implementation Coordinator and team of professional from the SDP staff or National Faculty. Services are provided at two levels: at the school level to support full implementation and at the district level to organize central support for implementation, and to integrate the Comer Process into the district as a whole.

After an SDP Implementation Coordinator has been appointed to work with the schools, the Professional Development and Consultation Unit provides a number of services.
