Living
in New Haven
Sara Haug
Graduate student - Segal lab
I view
living in New Haven in two ways that are highly complementary to my
educational experience at Yale. First, New Haven is an urban town with
the culture of a large city. From my apartment in Wooster Square, I
can walk to excellent restaurants, outdoor events on the green, museums,
theaters, the train station for day trips to New York City, or to bars
and discotechs for a night out with friends. Yet, the town is small
enough that I run into fellow students and friends along the way. Second,
New Haven is a gateway to all New England has to offer. I can do a day-trip
to hike part of the Appalachian Trail in northwestern Connecticut, paddle
class IV and V whitewater in Massachusetts, or ski in Vermont. I expected
my life to become one-dimensional during my graduate studies, however
living here I have only added to my interests and hobbies!
