Kathleen Stoessel, MD

Dr. Stoessel is Director of the Medical Retina Sub-Section. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the College of New Rochelle and received her medical degree from the State University of New York - Downstate Medical Center in 1976. She completed her ophthalmology residency training at the Yale University School of Medicine in 1981 and followed that with a vitreoretinal fellowship, also at Yale. In 1982, Dr. Stoessel joined the staff of the Yale Eye Center.

Dr. Stoessel is presently an Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Yale and is in charge of the Retinopathy of Prematurity program. She lectures on fluorescein angiography and introduces the ophthalmology residents to electrophysiology.
