Brian DeBroff, MDDr. DeBroff grew up in Pittsburgh and attended Tufts University, graduating magna cum laude in Biology and Classics and was inducted in AOA as a medical student. After his residency at the Eye and Ear Institute of Pittsburgh, he completed an Anterior Segment fellowship at the Gimbel Eye Centre in Calgary, Canada. His publications include a book on phacoemulsification, four book chapters, and 25 articles in peer-reviewed journals. He has practiced in Connecticut for the past seven years, during which time he has been actively teaching residents at Yale, and was presented with the 1998 Teaching Award . He now serves as the Residency Program Director. Dr. DeBroff is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. At Yale University, he is the Director of the Comprehensive and Cataract Service, and Chief of Ophthalmology at the West Haven Veterans Medical Center. Dr. DeBroff's practices the latest techniques in adult and pediatric cataract surgery, including complicated and traumatic anterior segment surgery. Dr. DeBroff also performs ReSTOR lens implant which improves and increases visual acuity for patients undergoing cataract surgery.
