. Corneal and Refractive Surgery Sections

The Section of Corneal and Refractive Surgery Sections treats a wide range of common and rare corneal and external disease problems. The laser vision correction Section uses state-of-the-art eye tracking technology called LADARVision.Visit our laser vision correction Section web site for detailed, helpful information on the treatment of nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism using PRK and LASIK.

Cornea and eye disorders commonly treated include dry eyes, blepharitis, recurrent erosion, corneal ulceration, herpes simplex keratopathy, pseudophakic corneal decompensation, keratoconus, corneal dystrophies, pterygia and external tumors. The Contact Lens Section fits specialty lenses, including keratoconus lenses, as well as cosmetic contact lenses.

Yale Eye Center Office Hours

The Yale Eye Center is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Emergency coverage is available as needed 24 hours a day. Call us at 203-785-2020 or toll-free at 1-800-395-7949 after hours to contact a Yale physician for an emergency situation.

The Yale Eye Center is located on the 3rd floor of the Temple Medical Center at 40 Temple Street in New Haven, Connecticut. Patients may use valet parking services, the Temple Street Garage, connected directly by a second story skywalk, or the Temple Medical Garage, connected directly to 40 Temple Streeet on the first level. Your Appointment: What to Bring with You

The Yale Eye Center physicians ask that you bring the following items with you for your appointment:

  • Your current eyeglasses and/or contact lenses

  • List of all current medications (include the name of the medication and the dosage)

  • Medical records that relate to your current condition. This should include X-rays, CT scans and any additional test results or copies of medical records.

  • Your current health insurance identification card and any referral/authorization forms that may be required by your insurance company.
