Resources For Educators

Whether you think of yourself as a babysitter, nanny, childcare worker, teacher, or early childhood educator, you have one of the most important careers one can choose-helping to raise and educate our next generation. ParentsFirst.net aims to make that job a little easier by connecting you to other early childhood professionals, helping you to advance your career, and providing ideas about developing curriculum.

Continuing Education Opportunities provides information and links to information about certification and degree programs for early childhood professionals.

Continuing Education Calendar provides information about local, state, and national events for continued learning and opportunities for mentorship and teaching.

CT Parents Plus Calendar provides a list of Training Classes for Parents and Child Care Providers in the Greater New Haven area. CT Parents Plus is to provide parents with the information and resources they need to feel confident and successful in their role as parents, and to connect families and educators in ways that will enable them to work together as equal and active partners in the ongoing development and education of their children.

Places to Go, Things to Do provides ideas for curriculum development in your setting and in the community. The Family Events calendar provides ideas for special activities in the community.

Bulletin Boards list Employment Opportunities and post data on Center and Family Daycare Openings.

A Family Daycare Provider Network Bulletin Board provides opportunities to connect with other providers to form playgroups, create backup plans, and form continuing education networks.

ParentsFirst.net also works to simplify the process of demonstrating the quality of the services you provide.

Information about licensing provides information about the process of licensing your center or family daycare.

NAEYC Accreditation provides information about the process of achieving accreditation for your center.

Connecticut School Readiness provides sample forms for mandated needs evaluation and followup, as well as Referral to Services in the Greater New Haven area.

Early Care and Education Resources provides a Resource List to help local child care settings to find resources for professional development, networking, and referral for families in need of services.
