Research Interests

Dr. Findley is a licensed psychologist who received her Ph.D. from Louisiana State University. Prior to coming to the Child Study Center, she was on the faculty at the West Virginia University - University Affiliated Center for Developmental Disabilities where she developed a training curriculum and served as Training Director for the interdisciplinary leadership training program supported by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau. For the past several years Dr. Findley has been the Clinical Coordinator for the Tic Disorder/Obsessive Compulsive Disorders Specialty Clinic at the Yale Child Study Center, providing outpatient behavioral treatments to children and adolescents with these disorders as well as anxiety, depression, and disruptive behavior problems. In addition to providing direct clinical services, she supervises psychology, child psychiatry, and social work fellows in behavioral treatment for children and adolescents with these disorders.

In addition to her clinical and training interests, Dr. Findley has been actively involved in several research projects. These have included longitudinal studies examining the relationships between tic, obsessive-compulsive, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity symptoms and stress and autoimmune function as well as a treatment study for parents of children with tics and disruptive behaviors. Currently, she is involved with the Behavioral Science Consortium of the Tourette Syndrome Association in a multisite study examining the effectiveness of a behavioral treatment for tics (habit reversal therapy). Additionally, she is the co-investigator of two treatment dissemination efforts, one being in the general outpatient clinic of the Child Study Center and the other in a general pediatric group practice.
