Types of Assessments
The Psychological Assessment Service considers the whole child, the family, school, and community in the evaluation process. During the evaluation process, an individualized testing plan is designed by the evaluator, based on the unique needs of the child/adolescent, and the questions to be answered within the evaluation.
Types of Assessment:
- Cognitive Testing: evaluation of intellectual strengths, intellectual delays, learning styles, language and communication skills, and evaluation of intellectual giftedness
- Achievement Testing: assessment of academic strengths and weaknesses, and specific learning disabilities
- Neuropsychological Testing: assessing memory, attention, executive
functioning, and other areas of neuropsychological processing
- Social-Emotional Evaluation: evaluation of the behavioral, emotional, and social features which may impact a child/adolescent's functioning.
- Adaptive Assessment: assessment of non-academic, real-life social and
community-based competencies
