Cases | A Patient with an Acute Gastrointestinal
Bleed
Introduction
A 52-year-old man, is admitted through the Yale Emergency Department because
of vomiting blood.
He has a long history of alcohol use and has been hospitalized for
withdrawal complications, pancreatitis, and traumatic injuries over the past
10 years. He had been relatively stable however until about 2 days prior to
admission when he noted some occasional vague abdominal pain.
