Name: Test ResultsFollowing the examination Suma presented the history and results of the physical examination to Dr. Grey who in turn interviewed and examined Donna. While Donna was getting dressed Suma and Dr. Grey had a few minutes to talk in the consultation room. Dr. Grey: How did your visit go? Suma: I thought it went pretty well. Except that she's scared and I wasn't sure what to tell her. Dr. Grey: What are your thoughts about what's causing the pain? Suma: I'm not sure. She does get heart burn a lot so it could be esophageal reflux. But this seems different. And the pain keeps moving around. It comes on when she's resting, so it doesn't sound like angina. Also the pains are mostly in her shoulders and neck, which suggests some type of musculoskeletal problem. Dr. Grey: So you are unsure about what's causing the pain. What would you recommend she do? Do you think we should send her to the hospital? Have some tests? Take a medication? Suma: I am concerned that it could be something serious, especially coronary insufficiency, although it may be quite minor. I'd like to start with an EKG to see if there are any clues to a heart problem.
