IV. Blood Supply to the Shoulder Region

Use the diagrams on the following page (from Baby Moor, pg. 296) to become familiar with the important arteries listed below. Notice the anastamoses illustrated in the diagram illustrating the blood supply around the posterior scapula. Remember that anastamoses refers to a communication between two arteries so that blood flows from one into the other. Collateral flow is a consequence of anastamoses.
